Never Have I Ever…Read A Later Book In A Series Before Reading The First Book!

Yep. Many times. I’ve just read The Night Stalker and The Death Sculptor recently, both of which are in the Robert Hunter series, I think they’re the 3rd and 4th 🤔

Oh, and when I first started reading Harry Potter I read Prisoner of Azkaban first, and loved it so much I went on to read the entire series over and over again 😅

Never Have I Ever…Burned A Book

Dun dun duuun!

I haven’t no, although I have wanted to. Many times. *cough cough Cursed Child cough cough*

Never Have I Ever…Read A Book I Knew I Would Hate

I know I have, I just can’t really think of any 🤔 Its happened a few times, and why I do it is beyond me, because I could just spend time reading things I do enjoy

Never Have I Ever…Wrote A Fanfiction About My Favorite Books!

Never Have I Ever…Loved A Book When I Was Younger And Hated It When I Was Older

I remember reading The Boy In The Striped Pyjamas when I was about 9 I think, and quite enjoying it, and then I reread it last lockdown and really hated it. Bruno was just such a prick, and I get that it was meant to represent how brain washed the children were, but the narration and his self importance really pissed me off.

Never Have I Ever… Dressed Up As One Of My Favorite Literary Characters!

I have, I’ve dressed up as Tris before, or I guess more Dauntless in general than just Tris.

Never Have I Ever…Hated A Book By An Author I Love!

I don’t think so. Nope.

Never Have I Ever…Gone Into A Store To Buy One Book And Come Out With Many More!

More times than I care to admit. I don’t really go to big bookstores anyway, I normally buy my books either second hand or just cheaper elsewhere, so when I do go book shopping I go all out 😅

Never Have I Ever Read The Ending Of A Book Before The Beginning

Smh yes. Unfortunately.

Never Have I Ever…Read A Book Without A Dust Cover

All the time! I never read with a dust cover on, and I don’t know why. Maybe its just annoying when they keep slipping around and ruining the magical moment 😒

Never Have I Ever…Skim Read Half A Book

I guess? I can’t remember ever really doing it, but I must have.

Never Have I Ever…Pretended To Read A Book I Haven’t

I am not to be held accountable for what I did many years ago, but no, not for years.

Never Have I Ever…Saw The Movie Before Reading The Book

Dont hate me. I have. I’m sorry 😞

Never Have I Ever…Had A Book Boyfriend

Much as I do fall in love with characters, I don’t really imagine myself with any of them, because that’s just a bit odd to me, and I feel like putting myself into the story just ruins the magic of it. Idk, probably just me.

Never Have I Ever…Read A History Or Anthropology Book For Fun!

So my dumb self had to look up the meaning of anthropology, and this is what I got: the scientific study of people, society, etc.

Yep! I’m reading one right now called Without Conscience, and it’s about psychopathy and the “disturbing world of psyopaths among us”. Its so interesting rn, it goes into depth about many convicted killers and criminals, and what the author has dubbed the Psychopathy Checklist.

Never Have I Ever…Picked Up A Book Based On The Cover Alone

Always. We Hunt The Flame I picked up partially because of the author (whom I admire greatly), and the setting, and the cover. Have you seen that cover in person? Its so beautiful!

Never Have I Ever…Bought Multiple Books In A Series Before Starting It

No. I don’t really buy any series I’m going to read, I usually borrow them from the library. What if I hate the series, and now have a bunch of them?

Never Have I Ever…Kept Reading A Series Even If I Didn’t Love The First Book

No. If a first book is good, I’ll keep going. If not, I don’t.

Never Have I Ever…Participated In A Readathon

Oh good lord. In January I decided that I’m going to take on 3 readathons. Suffice to say it didn’t go well. 😓

My Question: Never Have I Ever… Written In A Book

I’m just now starting to do that. I can’t remember where I saw this idea, but someone talked about writing in books and about how someday someone may get that book, and see what you wrote in it. I think its great, and so timeless ☺

I nominate:

Thank you very much everyone!

  1. Ahh Cursed Child!! So much of my energy went into trying to keep myself from tearing (or burning) the entire book! Lol. I hate it so, so much too!

    And I loved your post!

      1. It was! And there were huge arguments because people were just setting books on fire for the aesthetic, and other people were very upset at how it brought to mind actual book burnings. (Personally I wasn’t offended, but I do think someone has to be a bit dense to think they’re just going to light a book on fire and simply think it looks pretty/interesting and then be shocked/surprised that other people relate the image to censorship and book burnings…)

      2. Woah, I’m shocked.I can see why people would be upset by it, if they make that relation between the book burnings and censorship, it really can offend many people. I agree with you, if someone is going to burn a book simply for the aesthetic they have to realize that people are going to be quite angry about it

  2. Great tag! Ahhh thanks for tagging me, this looks so fun 🙂 I have to say, I got a bit scared when there was the drumroll to whether you’d burned a book 😂 I’ve never been *that* disappointed in a book that I felt the need to destroy it, but I definitely came close with a cursed child. Although I was always a big fan of the ‘tea stained pages and singed edges’ look to my homework’s at primary school…

  3. Omg this was such a interesting post, loved you answers. How can you read the ending before starting the book 😲

  4. I loved this Cherry! I actually always pick books by their covers unless I’m going to read them for educational purposes. So I 100% relate! And about the whole bookish bf thing, I’m with you. I could never imagine myself with a character, but hey, to each their own. This was super fun! ❤ ❤
